Leading The Way With Heart

Corporate Social Responsibility is our continuous commitment to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of our workforce and their families as well as of the local community and society at large.
Medical-Latex continued to set aside an attractive budget for it's CSR efforts in the course of 2013 working towards returning to the society in which it works, lives and plays in.
The following organizations received donations during the MLD 26th Anniversary.

(1) Villa Paulos, Malaysia

VILLA PAULOS, located at No.16A, Jalan Mariamah, 80100 Johor Bahru, Johor was established at a home from a donor.
It caters for children who have been abandoned and/or abused and neglected children from families who for some reasons are unable to cater the care for the children.

(2) Persatuan Penyayang Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Johor Bahru

"Persatuan Penyayang Kanak-Kanak Istimewa" is a non-profit organization setup is by a group of parents to provide support for children with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families. They are committed to share special education information with parents of special needs children, and to increase the awareness of society on the children with developmental disabilities and understanding children with special needs.

(3) Sek. Men. Bandar Putra, Kulaijaya, Raja Zarith Sofiah WildlifeDefenders Challenge 2013 Program

SKBP was selected to join the Raja Zarith Sofiah Wildlife Defenders Challenge 2013 program organized by Kulim (M) Berhad in collaboration with the Education Department of Johor. This competition is divided into a number of challenges that need to be completed by all participating schools. This program is to raise awareness of the importance of wildlife conservation and foster cooperation among team members. This program is running for 8 months from September 2013 to April 2014.
The school club requested financial assistance of RM7,000.00 for this program.

(4) United Nations HighCommissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

UNHCR distributes more than 150,000 condoms annually targeting the refugee population in Malaysia focusing in Klang Valley. They requested for a condom donation of 200,000 condoms per annum for 5 years (2014 - 2018). A total of 1 million condoms would be donated by MLD directly to the Project Care Life, a Community Health Workers Programme run by the Coalition of Burma Ethnics Malaysia (COBEM) refugee community and for the refugee cause.
UNHCR will receive the condoms from MLD.

(5) Paralympic Council, KL

The Asian Youth Para Games is a one of the most celebrated games of the Asian Paralympian being held once in every 5 years. It was first introduced in 2003 hosted by Hong Kong, China. The 2nd Games held in 2009 was hosted by Tokyo, Japan and Malaysia proudly hosted one of the biggest goodwill games from 26th to 30th of October 2013.
Over 41 Asian Nations with a population of over 2,500 athletes competed in 14 major Paralympic events of international standards and in compliance to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) the highest commanding authority in Paralympics.
A fund drive for the above was done by MLD's Kelab Sukan & Rekreasi and the company committed a ringgit to ringgit matching fund for the course.

(6) Partnership Collaboration with MAF the Red Ribbon All Star Futsal Tournament in Conjunction with the National World Aids Day 2013 Celebration

Separate events were scheduled in two different venues on the 1st December 2013 Red Ribbon Futsal Tournament at Sports Planet Futsal.
2nd December 2013: Official Launch of National World AIDS Day 2013 Celebration at Stadium Tertutup Gong Badak.
MLD's presentation was RM25K cash donation to Malaysian AIDS Foundation under the HIV sexual transmission prevention programme run by Malaysian AIDS Council and Partner Organisations and a donation of 250,000 condoms.
Nivea products were also donated by Beiersdorf (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd for participants of the event.

(7) Medical Society University Malaya (MEDSOC UM) - Red Ribbon Youth Club of Malaysian AIDS Council CELEBRATE WORLD AIDS DAY 2013, Berjaya Times Square

World AIDS Day 2013 (WAD13) was also organised by the Medical Society of University Malaya (UM MEDSoC) supported by the Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC) at Berjaya Times Square (BTS) concourse area on Saturday 21st December, 2013. UM MEDSoC put together a line-up of exciting activities to commemorate the WAD13 event, which included a HIV/AIDS exhibition and awareness booth, Flash Mobs, Free HUGS, Human line-up sculpture and stage performances. MAC also complimented the celebration with special performances from the Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters. MLD supported the event by taking-up two paid for booths and declared a further donation of 100,000 condoms to the MAC.

(8) Johore Cheshire Home, Malaysia

The establishment of the Johor Cheshire Home was initiated by His Highness the late Sultan Ibrahim and Her Highness the late Sultanah Marcella with the aim of providing a HOME for the disabled and needy of all races and religion. Johor Cheshire Home believes that each person whatever his or her disability is a uniquely valuable individual and that in disregarding their disabilities, they should have the personal freedom to pursue their aspirations and take their own place in the world.

(9) Action for Aids (AFA), Singapore

AFA, S'pore strives to reach people through information education and community materials / activities.
To date a number of people have been reached directly through these services and many condoms were distributed with the intent of preventing STIs.
